As I changed out of my wedding dress into my comfy dress (stretchy so I could eat lots) I got more and more excited! I couldn't wait for our alternative 'wedding breakfast'! We followed the path further and further into the middle of nowhere, I was delighted to see the confused looks on our guests’ faces. Then suddenly, fairy lights lead us to a clearing and I could hear surprised murmurs as they saw the Hansel and Gretal style cabin. The door opened and we were welcomed by our personal Chef Dan. As we sat down around the King Arthur style round table laid up ready for our wedding feast, I caught my new husband’s eye and grinned. We had completely blown our guests’ minds!
When planning our wedding, we had decided we wanted something unique - a real experience, but something more casual than a formal dinner. When we came across Tree Top Escape, it was a no brainer, the stunning views and unique intimate wedding venue that featured a hidden Grill-Haus, we were sold. We kept a lot of the details of the venue and wedding quiet so we could surprise our family and friends. It was great, they are such a nosey bunch and hated waiting for the details!
As Dan served us a warming soup, we helped ourselves to our favourite drinks. I couldn’t help myself, I just had to sing along to my favourite songs that were playing in the background! Watching the flames roar in the fire pit at the centre of the table and listening to our friends and family laugh and chatter, we were so happy and relaxed. Dan dipped in and out serving all the delicious food he had prepared, but the star of the show was the huge steak that Dan cooked to order on the grill, it was just something else…
After spending the evening eating amazing food, drinking a few too many cocktails and enjoying ourselves, we sent our guests home happy and full of unforgettable memories. It was then time for us to jump in the hot tub, do some star gazing and relive the most incredible day of our lives.
